lmao there's no way i could afford a cheytac!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but reloading a .308 is not $$ but a RUM or WSM or RSAUM is starting to get there.... donno what to decide..... my 7mm out does that .308 and i want something more but keep it in my $ range. a .308 has it's advantages though such as barrel life and$ on reload... where mag's and shorts are limited and $ all the way around from beginning to the end. but a shot at 300yds is about all i 'd shoot with 308 for deer, at least that is what i've been taught. and yes, a shot to 700 yds is pretty unusaul with my location but possible. but with practice it is duable(my 7mm now does it but accuracy is an issue with that rifle( barrel is wearing out- and it's a ruger-not going to replace barrel- so looking to get something more accurate and also fits into my objective.)

Man I shot a elk at 500 yards (lasered) went down like it was struck by lightining. The .308 is a great all around choice. It's less expensive to reload than a 7mm mag, bras is cheaper. Hope you got deep pockets and long fingers!

wow i can't believe you would chance that... you must really pack the powder in there.....lol i don't reload the 7mm do to fact i don't it shoot much anymore(even tho it got quite $$$ shooting that much) but ur rite bout the cheap part of the 308..
