thinking of new rifle for next year(spring) and in sniper fashion!!! now, the big Q is should i go with a savage or remington.... or tikka(plastic components) .... or howa(never seen in real life so no idea what to expect) or do i break the bank and go with the .409 cheytac( ooops nevermind, the wife gave me THE LOOK!!!---- joker, u no all bout that don't ya....lol j/k)..... some imput would be nice and remember---- i'm not rich like every1 here..... budget life is minimal life-----

LMAO... thats awsome!  No Hawk I do know a whole lot when it comes to rifles.  The person you want to ask is Bozo!  He knows quite a bit about that and can probably point you in the right direction when it comes to quality for the right price.  BTW is Cheytac .408 LOL. pm bozo or catch him on msn or ts and I'm sure he can give you some good ideas.  I want a cheytac too...  :bump:

joker----- hey man i was in a rush must've hit 9 by mistake....... cut me some slack---my wife was looking not too happy(ya no-the look -as i described b4!!)  :whacky086::lmao:j/k anywho---- looking for target and hunting(my new deer stand will be suitable for it). leaning toward savage due to parts avail. but would like a .50 MOA also... .308 isn't big enough as i could shoot for a range of 700yds. when hunting so looking at .300RUM or .300 WSM(i'm getting old and the Ultra has some serious powder ouchy!!) BTW i sent message on messanger and he won't reply...... oh well, kind of wondering about DPMS also(since their factory is here in town-lucky me)- i even site in my 7mm rem.mag. at the range next to them.... ......  :applause:but they are$$$$$ :whacky110:

It's one thing to say you're gonna hit something at 700 yards, it another to hit it. What does it cost to shoot a .409? how much to reload? Fuckin bunch I bet. That means little or no practice. So you're gonna buy this cannon shoot 3 shots to sight in at 100 yds, climb a fuckin tree and try to hit a deer at 700+? BUUWAAAAA!!!! Just get a fuckin .308 and load your own rounds. figure out trajectory and practice.

lmao there's no way i could afford a cheytac!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but reloading a .308 is not $$ but a RUM or WSM or RSAUM is starting to get there.... donno what to decide..... my 7mm out does that .308 and i want something more but keep it in my $ range. a .308 has it's advantages though such as barrel life and$ on reload... where mag's and shorts are limited and $ all the way around from beginning to the end. but a shot at 300yds is about all i 'd shoot with 308 for deer, at least that is what i've been taught. and yes, a shot to 700 yds is pretty unusaul with my location but possible. but with practice it is duable(my 7mm now does it but accuracy is an issue with that rifle( barrel is wearing out- and it's a ruger-not going to replace barrel- so looking to get something more accurate and also fits into my objective.)
